Club Socializer 7:00p Tuesday September 23, 2008

Due to the current situation brought about by Hurricane Ike we will not be having our previously scheduled program for Tuesday night.  We thought it might be good to just have an informal get together.  If you would like to do something other than look at the fence boards and tree limbs lining the street, garbage piling up or recovery TV, come to TAACCL for a club socializer.  The building suffered some carpet damage but has running water, A/C and lighting.  The carpet will have been pulled up by Tuesday so we will have room for setting up in the main lobby as usual.

If you have a photo, or photos you have been working on and want to discuss them, bring them out.  If you want to ask questions about Photoshop, new equipment coming out or just have some conversation with someone with similar interests, come on out.

If you are able, we are asking members to bring snacks, bought, baked or cooked eats and drinks.  Many members may not have power or services in their community and will be unable to bring anything at all.  Do not feel obligated to bring anything just because you are attending.  We want this to be a safe haven for one night and do not want this to be stressful to anyone.

If you get this notice and are able, please email me doug_h@sbcglobal.net to give us an idea of who will plan on attending and if you can bring anything.  This will allow us to possibly provide something others cannot in the way of refreshments.  I will also send this out on Yahoo Groups.  Obviously there are members who don't have internet access.  If you have phone contact with any of those members please pass this on to them.

BAPC Member Shirley Pearce - Better Photo Editor's Pick for Photo of the Day

Congratulations to Shirley Pearce for her photo titled "The Break" being selected as Photo of the Day by the Editors of BetterPhoto.com.  The link to her photo is located here http://www.betterphoto.com/gallery/dynoGallDetail.asp?photoID=6550941&catID= .  It is always a positive experience when your photography is also accepted outside of the club environment.

 Congratulations Shirley!
