What Do I Bring?

One of the club functions is providing refreshments for our monthly meetings.  Many members and visitors don't have time to get something to eat before the meetings start.  The food we provide helps them focus on the presented topic or program instead of their growling stomachs. It's also the right thing to do.

We have many new members who don't know what to bring when it is their turn to provide the food.  I will attempt to outline a basic list here:

Club provides:

  • Place to eat
    • TAACCL - All meetings with the possible exception of the Annual Awards Dinner
    • County building or other location on special occasions, if TAACCL is unavailable
  • Paper plates, napkins, plastic cups and utensils

Member provides:

  • Food and Drinks (Soft drinks/water)
    • Any food you like, understanding most of it will be eaten while standing around talking
    • Basic fare or general ideas for a night would be any combination of the following:
      • One liter each Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite or Seven-Up, CranGrape or Cranberry drink
      • One dozen pint sized bottled water or a jug of water
      • One 20# bag of crushed ice (required-no icemaker at TAACCL)
      • One small or medium tray of veggies with dip (Can be purchased at any Walmart ready-made)
      • One small or medium tray of fruit and cheese (Can be purchased at any Walmart ready-made)
      • One medium bag of regular chips or Doritos
      • One medium bag of Fritos (depends on dip) only if you bring a dip (canned Bean dip-mild)
      • One package of crackers for dip (what kind depends on dip) only if you bring a dip
      • One large package of Oreo cookies (always gets eaten)
      • One large package of Golden Oreo cookies (always gets eaten)
      • One can of mixed nuts (always gets eaten)

You can be as creative as you like.  We will eat whatever you bring.  There is not a minimum or maximum dollar amount expected to be spent, other than what it costs you to provide the basic fare.

Note:  You can bring homemade cookies, dips, brownies or whatever food you like.  The list above is just a general grab bag if you don't have any ideas of your own.  Whatever doesn't get eaten will have to be taken back home, so keep that in mind.
