Tutorial Night Tuesday July 1

We will be discussing ICC profiles and photo papers at Tutorial Night this Tuesday, July 1.

I will be presenting the topic to the club. Anyone interested in ICC profiles is welcome, not just members, visitors too!

I have sample papers from several manufacturers that I have printed on so you can see how paper choice affects your photo. I have Moab, Legion, Ilford, Epson and a few other brands you can pick up off the shelf at your local store. I will tell you where you can find some of the higher end papers without going to the Internet.

I will explain step by step how to get a custom profile for your printer and paper. I will explain how to find, download and install profiles for the paper you are using, or want to use. We will discuss what your options are if your printer does not support certain profiles or papers.

We will compare all the previously submitted test prints with the custom profile I obtained for my Epson 3800 printer for the Epson Premium Semigloss paper. I have those and will provide them on Tuesday for your review. If you want to print the test again with a semigloss paper of your choice, go ahead we will add them to the comparison. This is not a requirement.

We will go over step by step how to set up the printer for using the correct profile and paper choice before printing. I will be using the projector so you can see what I am doing. We will also be moving around the room while reviewing and discussing the papers laid out on the tables.
